CONCLUSION
All participants are able to prove and demonstrate their expertise with the certificate after passing the examination, significantly reducing the liability risk for both management and data protection officers themselves.
Does the law require this certificate?
It does not!
We are aware that other providers like to conceal this that. We do not keep it secret that the legislator does not require any certificates, examinations. or other authorisations at all from anyone who is to take on the tasks of a data protection officer and act in that capacity. However, in accordance with Article 37 (5) of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), the data protection officer must have the necessary expertise in the field of data protection law.
This does not need to be proven by any special certificate to prove this expertise.
However, the certificate is, of course, helpful when trying to prove that one has acquired expertise in this area, either for oneself or for any employees to be deployed in data protection within the company.
This is precisely what our certificate certifies after passing the examination.
What exactly does the certificate certify?

The certificate certifies successful participation in the training as a data protection officer and that the specialist knowledge has been demonstrated in a passed examination.

Expertise in accordance with Article 37 of the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and § 38 of the new Federal Data Protection Act (BDSG-NEU) is also confirmed.
These provisions stipulate that the data protection officer must have adequate expertise.
